11. Concluding operations: System drainage and cleaning

Always heed the vehicle and system-specific information on ESI[tronic].
Attention:
Always drain the system with the diagnostic tester before opening the AdBlue circuit to
avoid the uncontrolled escape of AdBlue. This test always ends with termination of
diagnosis. For further testing, the ignition is therefore to be switched off and on again.
- Detach and clean the test pressure pipes, pressure gauge, graduated beakers and test
metering module.

11.1 Component cleaning

Attention:
Heed the safety instructions for handling AdBlue.
On completion of the functional tests the components of the Denoxtronic Set must be
cleaned and fully dried, as otherwise they will soon become unusable.
- Completely empty the test pipes, pressure
gauge, graduated beakers and test metering
module. Never leave any residual AdBlue in
the components.
- Seal the electrical connection at the test
metering module with the sealing plug
(0 986 610 452).
- Thoroughly rinse all components that come
into contact with AdBlue - in particular the
pressure gauge and test metering module -
with hot water after use.
- Then completely dry all the components by
blowing out with compressed air.
- To maintain serviceability, treat all O-rings
(e.g. for hydraulic lines) with lubricant (glycerine paste) at regular intervals.
- Fit the test hoses together. Attach protective caps to the metering module connections to
prevent contamination.
11.2 Disconnecting adapter module /diagnostic tester
Attention:
The ignition must always be "OFF" when unplugging the connector.
- Ignition MUST BE SWITCHED OFF!
- Disconnect the diagnostic tester from the adapter module/diagnosis interface.
- Unplug the wiring harness connector from the adapter module.
- Detach the connecting line of the adapter module from the delivery module.
- Plug in the wiring harness connector at the delivery module and lock in position.
