10.3.1 AdBlue circuit leak test (internal leakage),
delivery module with cooling circuit control valve
Whether or not a cooling circuit control valve is fitted
can be seen from the Identification in the diagnostic
tester (Section 1.5.2).
This functional test is required for assessing the
internal leakage of the AdBlue circuit delivery
module/metering module. In this test, a pressure of
approx. 500 kPa (5 bar) is built up in the system, but
the metering valve is not actuated.
- The test must be completed without any error
message.
- Observe the pressure during and after the test.
Approx. 120 seconds after the test (with the
delivery pump not in operation) it must not have
dropped below 450 kPa (4.5 bar).
- If the pressure drops below 450 kPa (4.5 bar)
during this period, check the system for external
leaks.

If no external leakage is detected, remove the
metering module from the exhaust system (keep
hydraulic and electric cables attached), and
repeat test!

Perform a metered quantity test if there is no visible leakage despite an excessive drop in
pressure (Section 10.1). If the metered quantity is OK, this indicates an internal leakage (4/2-
way valve, CCV). If necessary, remove and repair delivery module.
