10.3. AdBlue circuit leak test (internal leakage),
delivery module without cooling circuit control valve
Whether or not a cooling circuit control valve is fitted can be seen from the Identification in the
diagnostic tester (Section 1.5.2).
This functional test is required for assessing the internal leakage of the AdBlue circuit delivery
module/metering module.
Always heed the vehicle and system-specific information on ESI[tronic].
Attention:
Heed the safety instructions for handling AdBlue. Always drain the system before
opening the AdBlue circuit to avoid the uncontrolled escape of AdBlue. This test always
ends with termination of diagnosis. For further testing, the ignition is therefore to be
switched off and on again.
- The test must be completed without any error
message. The AdBlue pressure should not fall below
the value specified by the KTS tester within approx.
120 s.
The illustration shows the sealing pipe (0 986 610
457) at the metering module outlet in place of the
return pipe. This permits rapid in-situ leakage
assessment.
- If the pressure drops below the specified value of
approx. 430 kPa (4.3 bar) during the test period, fit the
sealing pipe (0 986 610 458) to the inlet pipe of the
metering module and repeat the test step.
- If the pressure drops below 430 kPa (4.3 bar) again in
this test, check the system again for external leaks.
- If no external leakage is detected, then the delivery
module must be removed, checked and, if necessary,
repaired. Heed the test and repair instructions on
ESI[tronic].
