INSTRUCTION MANUAL PR 1591/00, /10
5.6.1 Switching on and off the instrument
Before switching on, ensure that the instrument has been installed in accordance
with the instructions mentioned in the preceding paragraphs.
The instrument is in operation as soon as the mains voltage is connected.
The specification as given in the technical data are valid after a warm-up time of
2 hours.
As the instrument has no mains switch it can only be switched off by interrupting
both phases of the mains connection (please observe para.4.5).
5.6.2 Compensation of dead loads
Constant loads (tare weights) such as weights of empty platforms or bins etc. can
be compensated as follows:
- turn the multiturn-potentiometer R 608 (TARE) to its approx. mid-point
position.
- perform coarse zero point adjustment beginning with switch no. 7 of switch
configuration SA (see fig. 7.7).
The switches must be set to the ON- and OFF- position successively until the
output signal reaches the lowest possible value.
- adjust the zero point accurately by means of the potentiometer R 608 (TARE).
5.6.3 SPAN-fine adjustment
The weighing device must now be loaded with a defined weight, which should
correspond to at least 2/3 of f.s.d.
The more this weight corresponds to the final value, the more accurately the
Span can be adjusted.
Under normal circumstances, i.e. when all the necessary factors have been
taken into account during mounting and installation of the weighing device, the
final span adjustment should be limited to a correction by means of the
potentiometer SPAN.
If there is insufficient adjustment on the potentiometer, the SPAN coarse setting
must be altered. This is achieved by moving the switch configuration of SB to
the next higher valency for an RH-stop of the potentiometer R609 (SPAN).
In order to balance out further span changes, the potentiometer should be
adjusted as near as possible to its mid-position.
After the SPAN-fine adjustment, it is necessary to unload the weighing device
and to repeat the calibration process.
