INSTRUCTION MANUAL PR 1591/00, /10
signal of the PR 1591/10 corresponds to a scale end value of 100,0.
If a different scale value must be adjusted, matching must be done following the
instructions given in section 4.7.1. of this manual.
In this case, the following parameter changes must be taken into account:
Max. DVM input voltage = 2 V
Max. DVM display range = 1999
Ri of DVM = > 10 M S
R1
R2
This adaption procedure can be only coarse because of the available resistors.
Fine matching is done using the potentiometer for calibration of scale end at the
side of the digital voltmeter DVM as illustrated in the figure 7.11.
When determining the required resistance values, note that the maximum load of
the PR 1591/10 voltage output may not be lower than 2 k S .
Moreover, note that the temperature coefficient of the amplification factor is im-
paired by the resistors.
In its orginal condition, the internal resistance of the DVM is > 10 M S . As the
DVM is already factory-matched to PR 1591/10 (see above), the load of the
PR 1591/10 voltage output corresponds to approx. 110 k S .
Solder link S4 on the additional p.c.b. short-circuits the voltage divider R 602/603
and must, therefore, remain open.
5.5.1 Setting the decimal point
The required decimal point is adjustable by means of jumpers S1 to S3 on the
additional p.c.b. following the hints given on the print.
The decimal point is factory-set into position X X X . X (jumper S3).

COMMISSIONING / FINAL CALIBRATION
For special attention:
in order to avoid short-circuits at the span and tare switches during
commissioning please use
- either the special calibration tool (service code 5312 395 98001),
- or at least an isolated tool (like a voltage-check screw driver).
When soldering inside the module it is essential
a. to switch off the instrument, and
b. to use a low-voltage soldering iron, galvanically separated from the mains side
(see also para.2.2.3).
