DESCRIPTION
1.2.1 General
The Weight Transmitter PR 1591/00 and PR 1591/10 (PR 1591 in the following)
have been developed for industrial weighing systems which operate under harsh
conditions.
The application field of the instrument ranges from simple installations where the
level control of tank and hopper contents is required, to platform scales and
crane weighing systems. The input of the Weight Transmitter is suitable for all
strain-gauge loadcells up to a total sensitivity of 0.2 mV/V up to 2 mV/V. It can
be loaded with 6 loadcells of 600 Ohm each, i.e. 100 Ohm total.
Distances up to 300 meter between loadcells and the transmitter are permissible
with out of loss of accuracy, due to a six-wire technique which compensates
temperature effects and the resistance of the loadcell cable.
The PR 1591 proportionally converts the values obtained from the loadcells into
a DC-voltage of 0 ... 10 V and a "load-independent" current of 0 ...+20 mA, or
+4 ...+20 mA, enabling either an analogue or digital indication of weight or level
to be given. For indication normal volt- or amperemeter can be used.
The current output allows larger distances between the weight transmitter and
the connected indicator.
