INSTRUCTION MANUAL PR 1591/00, /10
2.2.4 Type of protection
The instrument is protected according to class I (protective earth) of the IEC 536.
The connection cable must contain a protective earth conductor which must not
be interrupted inside or outside the instrument (e.g. by using an extension cable
without protective earth conductor).
Ensure the correct functioning of the protective earth before connecting the
instrument to the supply voltage.
2.2.5 Supply voltages / mains connection
The instrument may be connected to nominal 110, 128, 220, or 238 V AC.
It is factory-set to 220/238 V AC.
Ensure that the instrument is adapted to the local nominal mains voltage.
For connecting the mains cable (including the protective earth) or other supply
leads to the instrument, strictly observe this Instruction Manual.
As this instrument has no mains switch, it will be in operation as soon as the
mains voltage is applied.
According to EN 61010-1, part 6.12.2.1, it must be possible to switch off the
mains voltage by means of a appropriate device situated close to the instrument.
2.2.6 Earthing
In order to be conform with directive 89/336/EEC (EMC) the transmitter must
-
be connected as low ohmic as possible to a potential equalization system via
the external earthing terminal at its housing, and
-
be earthed according to the latest safety regulations which are valid locally.
2.3
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
2.3.1 Failure and excessive stress
If the instrument is suspected of being unsafe, take it out of operation and make
sure it cannot be operated inadvertently. This is the case, when the instrument
-
shows physical damage,
-
does not function any more,
-
is stressed beyond the tolerable limits (e.g. during storage and
transportation).
