6. Switch on the device using the ON/OFF button on
the telescoping handle:

a Press and hold the unlocking button of the ON/
OFF button on the telescoping handle.
b Press the ON/OFF button on the telescoping
handle.
The device starts up.
The unlocking button of the ON/OFF button can now
be released.
To stop the device, release the ON/OFF button.
Note
If the device is mounted on the telescoping handle, the
ON/OFF button on the device has no function.
DANGER
Risk of injury when lifting the unit with the tele-
scopiing handle!
The device cannot be guided safely when lifting with the
telescoping handle, and may get out of control and
cause cuts or bruises.
Do not lift the device with the telescoping handle.
Only guide the device with the wheels on the ground.
7. Guide the device with the telescoping handle.

Cutting bushes / hedges / shrubs with the
shrub shears
1. Mounting the shrub shears, see chapter Mounting
the grass or shrub shears.
2. Switch on the device:

a Press and hold the unlocking button of the ON/
OFF button.
b Press the ON/OFF button.
The device starts up.
The unlocking button of the ON/OFF button can
now be released.
To stop the device, release the ON/OFF button.
3. Cut bushes / hedges / shrubs with the shrub shears.
When cutting the hedge, keep the blades parallel to
the hedge.

Changing the grass and shrub shears
DANGER
Risk of injury due to cuts from sharp blades and ac-
cidentally switching on the device!
Remove the battery from the device before all work on
the device.
Make sure that the ON/OFF button is not pressed while
inserting the battery pack.
Avoid unintentionally switching on the device.
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when work-
ing on the device.
Always mount the blade guard before working on the
device and before transporting it.
1. Release the ON/OFF button.
The device switches off.
2. Remove the battery pack from the device, see chap-
ter Removing the battery pack.
3. Mount the blade guard on the grass and shrub
shears, see chapter Mounting the blade guard.
4. Remove the grass or shrub shears from the device:

a Press both release buttons simultaneously.

b Remove the grass or shrub shears from the
shear holder.
5. Mount the grass or shrub shears on the device:

a Insert the grass or shrub shears into the shear
holder as shown.
b Press the grass or shrub shears against the
shear holder until you hear them click into place.
Removing the battery pack
Note
During longer work breaks, remove the battery pack
from the device and secure it against unauthorised use.
1. Release the ON/OFF button.
The device switches off.
2. Press the battery pack unlocking button, and pull the
battery pack out of the battery mount.

2. Remove the battery pack from the device, see chap-
ter Removing the battery pack.
3. Charge the battery pack, see chapter Battery pack
charging.
4. Clean the device, see chapter Cleaning the device.
5. Oil the blades, see chapter Oiling the blades.
6. Mount the blade guard, see chapter Mounting the
blade guard.
CAUTION
Risk of injury and damage
Be aware of the weight of the device during transporta-
tion.
1. Release the ON/OFF button.
The device switches off.
2. Remove the battery pack from the device, see chap-
ter Removing the battery pack.
3. Mount the blade guard, see chapter Mounting the
blade guard.
4. Remove the grass or shrub shears from the device,
see chapter Changing the grass and shrub shears.
5. Before transporting the device with a vehicle, stow
or secure the device and the accessories so that
they will not slip or be thrown around when acceler-
ating, braking, cornering or in the event of an acci-
dent.
1. Release the ON/OFF button.
The device switches off.
2. Remove the battery pack from the device, see chap-
ter Removing the battery pack and store it properly,
see the operating instructions for the battery pack.
3. Clean the device, see chapter Cleaning the device.
4. Mount the blade guard, see chapter Mounting the
blade guard.
CAUTION
Failure to observe the weight
Risk of injury and damage
Be aware of the weight of the device during storage.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage due to incorrect storage!
Incorrect storage can damage the device.
