Mounting the grass or shrub shears
DANGER
Risk of injury due to cuts from sharp blades and ac-
cidentally switching on the device!
Remove the battery from the device before all work on
the device.
Make sure that the ON/OFF button is not pressed while
inserting the battery pack.
Avoid unintentionally switching on the device.
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when work-
ing on the device.
Always mount the blade guard before working on the
device and before transporting it.
1. Select the grass or shrub shears according to the
purpose of use.
2. Mount the blade guard, see chapter Mounting the
blade guard.
3. Mount the grass or shrub shears on the device:

a Insert the grass or shrub shears into the shear
holder as shown.
b Press the grass or shrub shears against the
shear holder until you hear them click into place.
Inserting the battery pack
DANGER
Risk of cutting injuries if the device is accidentally
switched on!
Make sure that the ON/OFF button is not pressed while
inserting the battery pack.
Avoid unintentionally switching on the device.
1. Release the ON/OFF button.
2. Press the battery pack into the battery pack holder
on the device until it you feel it latch into place.

After the device has been switched on, the charging
state of the battery pack is displayed.

Assembling the telescoping handle
(optional)
With the telescoping handle, even longer lawn edges
can be cut comfortably while walking.
The telescoping handle is optionally available.
1. Release the union nut and pull the telescoping han-
dle apart a little, see chapter Cutting grass with the
grass shears on the telescoping handle.
This makes it easier to slide the holding tray onto the
telescoping handle.
2. Push the holding tray onto the telescoping handle as
shown, until it audibly clicks into place.

Note
The holding tray cannot be removed from the telescop-
ing handle after it has been engaged.
Operation
DANGER
Risk of injury due to cuts from sharp blades and ac-
cidentally switching on the device!
The blades can cause severe cuts.
Do not touch the blades.
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves for all work
with or on the device.
Avoid unintentionally switching on the device.
If the device switches off automatically due to overload,
release the ON/OFF button immediately. Wait until the
device or the battery is ready for operation again before
switching it on again.
WARNING
Risk of injury from airborne parts!
The blades can throw loose parts around.
Before starting work, check the work area for objects
that may be flung around, e.g. wires, stones and glass.
Wear safety goggles, protective gloves and hearing pro-
tection for all work with the device.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage by or to the blades!
The blades can damage objects.
Hard objects can damage the blades.
Check the work area for objects such as cords, hoses,
lines, cables, metal rods, wire mesh before starting work
and keep a sufficient distance.
Cutting grass with the grass shears
1. Installing the grass shears, see chapter Mounting
the grass or shrub shears.
2. Remove the blade guard.
3. Switch on the device:

a Press and hold the unlocking button of the ON/
OFF button.
b Press the ON/OFF button.
The device starts up.
The unlocking button of the ON/OFF button can
now be released.
To stop the device, release the ON/OFF button.
4. Guide the blades parallel to the ground.

Cutting grass with the grass shears on the
telescoping handle
1. Mount the grass shears on the device, see chapter
Mounting the grass or shrub shears.
Note
For safety reasons, the shrub shears must not be used
with the telescoping handle. If the shrub shears are
mounted, the device cannot be pushed into the holding
tray. Do not make any modifications to the shrub shears!
2. Push the device into the holding tray as shown until
it stops.

Note
To remove the device, pull it out of the holding tray.

3. To cut grass on ledges, for example, swivel the de-
vice to the left or right:

a Pull the unlocking slider in the direction of the ar-
row and hold it.
b Swivel the device with the holding tray 90° to the
left or right.
c Release the unlocking slider.
The holding tray locks into place.
4. Adjust the length of the telescoping handle if neces-
sary:

a Release the union nut.
b Push the telescoping handle together or pull it
apart.
c Tighten the union nut.
5. Remove the blade guard.
