No. 1 Check tank level before each ride. Top off when oil level is at sight glass or No. 5
before any prolonged use. Use the following lubricant (in order of
preference):
Two-stroke oil labeled " B I A certified for Service T C - W " . No. 6
No. 2 At ambient temperatures of 4 5 ~ 9 0 ° F , use Yamalube 4-cycle. Do not No. 7
use "additives" in oil.
No. 3 Use 1 0 W / 3 0 " S E " motor oil. (If desired, specialty type lubricants of quality No. 8
manufacture may be used.) No. 9
"Drive chains" — Lube every 2 5 0 ~ 5 0 0 miles. If severe usage.
every 5 0 ~ 100 miles.
No. 4 Use graphite base type (specialty types available — use name-brand. quali-
ty manufacturer).
Light duty — Smooth. light-weight " w h i t e " grease (Lithium soap base).
Heavy duty — Standard lube grease (do not use lube grease on
throttle/housing).
Use Standard lube grease-smooth, not coarse.
Medium-weight wheel bearing grease of quality manufacture-preferably
waterproof.
Light-weight machine oil.
Air filters — Foam element air filters must be damp with oil at all times to
funetion properly. Clean and lube monthly or per mileage.
If hard usage. clean and lube daily. Do not over-oil. Use S A E
1 0 W / 3 0 " S E " .
