7.4.6.4 Expert Mode
In Expert Mode, you can individually adjust the aspiration and dispensing behavior for each possible Liquid
End in the volume ranges 0 – 9.9%, 10 – 49 % and 50 - 100 %. This volume range always refers to the nominal
volume of the Liquid End.
That means:
If a Liquid End has nominal volume of 50 µl and only 20 µl is aspirated or dispensed in the individual Transfer
Command, the respective setting only applies for the range of 10 – 49.9 %.
You can adjust the parameters (e.g. Speed, Wait time after aspirating) per Volume Range and per Liquid End
for this Liquid Type in the tabs Aspirate, Air Cushion, Dispense and Blow Out and thus adjust the Liquid Type to
the medium to be dispensed. This way you ensure that the required liquid volume is actually aspirated. If you
would like to adjust a setting for the corresponding Volume Range, select the field and enter a value. This
value must be within the specified speed or time range. Select multiple cells to edit several values at the
same time.

Adjust how quickly the liquid should be aspirated.
Unit: millimeters per second
The speed can be adjusted per Volume Range here. In the factory settings, a speed of 5 mm/s is set for the
SC-50 µl Liquid End in the Volume Range of 0 - 9.9%.
