7.4.6 Liquid Type Manager
In the Liquid Type Manager, you describe different pipetting parameters for various liquids. You always cre-
ate new parameters based on the default liquid type, which you can then edit in the following modes.
You open the Liquid Type Manager using the
Edit Content or, as the case may be, in the context menu.
You can recreate an existing liquid type without opening the Liquid Type Manager by clicking on the
ton.
Alternative method using commands:
You open the Liquid Type Manager using the
the Transfer and Mix Command.
Basic Mode
In Basic Mode, you first select a Liquid End and a volume range that is most suitable for your application. The
settings in this mode are then valid for all Liquid Ends and all volume ranges if the newly created Liquid Type
was selected.
See Basic Mode, p. 298
Expert Mode
In Expert Mode, you can individually adjust the aspiration and dispensing behavior for each possible Liquid
End in the volume ranges 0 – 9.9%, 10 – 49 % and 50 - 100 %. This volume range always refers to the nominal
volume of the Liquid End.
That means:
If a Liquid End has nominal volume of 50 µl and only 20 µl is aspirated or dispensed in the individual Transfer
Command, the respective setting only applies for the range of 10 – 49.9 %.
