Important notes
Before start up, connecting and operating
Bosch products it is absolutely essential
that the operating instructions/owner's
manual and, in particular, the safety in-
structions are studied carefully. By doing so you can
eliminate any uncertainties in handling Bosch products
and thus associated safety risks upfront; something
which is in the interests of your own safety and will
ultimately help avoid damage to the device. When a
Bosch product is handed over to another person, not
only the operating instructions but also the safety
instructions and information on its designated use must
be handed over to the person.
2.1
Intended use
The EPS 118 with its accessories is intended solely for
the testing of Bosch passenger car common rail injec-
tors with solenoid valve (CRI) with coil resistance up to
5 ohms and passenger car common rail injectors with
a piezo valve (piezo CRI) and commercial vehicle com-
mon rail injectors (CRIN). for non-Bosch injectors (Del-
phi, Denso and Siemens/VDO/Conti), special connect-
ing cables and hose assemblies (optional accessories)
are required. For commercial vehicle common rail injec-
tors, special test adapters or return adapters (optional
accessories) are required.
The EPS 118 provides an automatic test sequence to
determine whether the tested injector can continue to
be used.
The accessories and supplementary equipment sets
listed, as well as all replacement and wearing parts are
only to be used in conjunction with EPS 118. Any other
use above and beyond this is considered improper. The
manufacturer/supplier will not be liable for any damage
resulting from such use. The user bears the sole risk.
