Maintenance and repair
General information on damage to property and products
Plugging or unplugging modules or connectors/terminals into/from
live systems
Possibility of damage to the electrical equipment, unexpected
plant reactions!
Unless described otherwise, never unplug or plug any connec
"
tors/terminals on live systems.
"
The timer's power supply should always be disconnected before
inserting/removing any timer modules.
Improper handling of lithium batteries
Possibility of environmental hazards!
Dispose of spent batteries in accordance with the provisions of
"
the law only.
Electrostatic charge
Possibility of damage to the electrical equipment!
Observe all precautions for ESD protection when handling modu
"
les and components and avoid electrostatic discharge.
"
Observe the following protective measures for modules and
components sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD):
• Personnel responsible for storage, transport, and handling
must have training in ESD protection.
• ESD-sensitive components must be stored and transported in
the prescribed protective packaging.
• ESD-sensitive components may generally only be handled at
special ESD workplaces.
• Personnel, working surfaces, as well as all equipment and
tools which may come into contact with ESD-sensitive
components must have the same potential (e.g. by groun
ding).
• Wear an approved grounding bracelet. The grounding bracelet
must be connected with the working surface through a cable
with an integrated 1 megaohm resistor.
• ESD-sensitive components may by no means come into con
tact with chargeable objects, including most plastic materials.
• When inserting or removing ESD in/from other devices, the de
vice must be safely disconnected from the supply.
