Removing Flywheel
1) Flatter the flywheel washers.
2) Remove the flywheel bolts, except for two which must
be loosened and left as they are.
3) Set a flywheel puller, and remove the flywheel.
(Note for reassembling)
• Apply a thin film of grease to the bearing and oil seal at
the back of the crankshaft.
• Check the ring gear for any uneven wear, lack or crack of
teeth.
• Check to see that there are no metal particles left on the
flywheel mounting surface.
• To ease alignment of the crankshaft and the flywheel,
bring the crank of one of the cylinders to TC (top dead
center). Make sure of the flywheel TC, align it with the
punch mark of the rear end plate, and set the flywheel.
• Tighten the flywheel bolts to 54 to 59 Nm (5.5 to 6.0
kgf·m, 40 to 43 ft-Ibs) in diagonal order.
• Bend the tangs of the flywheel washer against the bolts.

that there are no scratches on the oil seal lip. Then, apply
a thin film of engine oil, and install. Be sure to check the
top mark
(..t. )
on the cover during installation.
