For the clamping of CB 18 units with Oldham con-
nection, the intermediate flange 1 685 700 140
(fig. 3, pos. 1), protective hood 1 685 510 148
(fig. 3, pos. 2), guard ring 1 685 510 176 (fig. 3,
pos. 3), and angle plate 1 688 010 129 (fig. 3,
pos. 6), are required.
These clamping parts are special accessories and
must be purchased for the test.
Warning - danger of entanglement
Due to rotating or moving parts when the
drive motor is running, body parts or cloth-
ing could be caught and pulled in.

Mount the protective hood with a distance
of < 5 cm from the flywheel.

The permissible tightening torques for the clamping
components, multi-plate clutches, and hoses are
provided in the appropriate product test instructions
in the Bosch ESI[tronic].
1. Fasten the intermediate flange (fig. 3, pos. 1) to the
flywheel of the EPS. Bolt tightening torques for:

M10 = 53 Nm – 57 Nm
$
M12 = 93 Nm – 97 Nm
2. Fasten drive flange 1 685 702 105 (fig. 3, pos. 4) on
the intermediate flange.
Bolt tightening torque of the fastening screws =
40 Nm – 50 Nm.

Slide the protective hood (fig. 3, pos. 2) with guard

ring (fig. 2, pos. 3) over the drive flange (fig. 2,
pos. 4) and intermediate flange (fig. 3, pos. 1) and
fasten.
Mount fixing flange (fig. 3, pos. 7) on the CB 18.

Place CB 18 with fixing flange in the angle plate

(fig. 3, pos. 6) and fasten.
6. Clean and lightly oil the groove in the drive flange
(fig. 3, pos. 4).

Only use coupling elements (fig. 3, pos. 5) that are
not dirty and/or damaged.
7. Grease coupling piece (fig. 3, pos. 5) with grease
that is centrifuge-resistant and heat-resistant (e.g.
Bosch FT1V4, 5 700 002 025) inside and outside,
and insert it in the groove of the drive flange (fig. 3,
pos. 4).
8. Slide CB 18 into the coupling unit (fig. 3, pos. 5). For
coverage, rotate flywheel on EPS.
Fasten angle plate (fig. 3, pos. 6) on the clamping

bracket using both fastening screws.
10. Move protective hood 1 685 510 148 (fig. 3, pos. 2)
until drive flange (fig. 3, pos. 4) is covered and
there is no risk of entanglement. Then attach the
protective hood.
11. Turn flywheel of EPS by hand and ensure that
grinding noises do not occur between guard ring
(fig. 3, pos. 3) and drive flange (fig. 3, pos. 4). If
grinding noises occur, correct seat of guard ring.
