3-2. Switches

The MJ500, MJ600, and MJ700 are provided with two types
of switches — mode switches and option switches. The mode
switches can be operated from the side of the main unit, and
the option switches are located inside the main unit.

3-2-1. MODE switches

The mode switches are used to set the reference point, number
of divisions (number of interpolations), and other basic
functions.
Default settings

MODE switches 1 and 2 (reference point position
1 and 2 switches)
These switches are used to set the phase relationship for the
reference point gate signals and encoder signals that are input.
The phase relationship is set by these two switches. For more
information, see the section "3-4. Using the reference point."
MODE switch 3 (reference point adjustment mode
switch)
This switch is used to switch between interpolation mode
and reference point adjustment mode. Normally, this switch
is set to OFF. For more information, see the section "3-4.
Using the reference point."
ON
MODE switch 4 (reference point mode switch)
This switch is used to change the output width of the reference
point. For more information, see the section "3-4-4. Setting
the reference point output signal width."
MODE switch 5 (direction switch)
This switch is used to change the phase relationship between
the encoder input signal and A/B phase output signal. For
more information, see the section "3-3-4. Direction
switching."
