Settings for Each Output
Mode
The following is supplementary information to be added to
the above manual when this board has been installed in the
HDW-1800/D1800.
2-3 Pulldown Sequences
Output of 59.94i or 60i HD signals after 2-3 pulldown
becomes possible when you select a system frequency in
which output is carried out in pulldown mode. The
following figure shows the 2-3 pulldown sequence.

Pulldown Mode
To be able to obtain a pulldown mode output, first select
"ON" in setup menu item 013 "SYSTEM FREQUENCY
SELECT", and then continue the menu setting operation to
set the pulldown mode to 24PD, 23.98PD1, or 23.98PD2.
For details, see "To switch the system frequency (menu
item 013)" in the Operation Manual.
Pulldown Modes
24PD mode: The signals output from the HDSDI output
connectors are post-pulldown 1080/60i signals. SD
signals (SDI, composite) are not output.
23.98PD1 mode: The signals output from the HDSDI
output connectors are post-pulldown 1080/59.94i
signals. The signals output from the SD output
connectors (SDI, composite) are 480/59.94i signals
which have been down converted after pulldown.
23.98PD2 mode: The signals output from the HDSDI
output connectors are pre-pulldown 1080/23.98PsF
signals. The signals output from the SD output
connectors (SDI, composite) are 480/59.94i signals
which have been down converted after pulldown.
Timecode Display in Pulldown Mode
Timecode displayed in the lower control panel
The LCD in the lower control panel of the HDW-1800/
D1800 displays the pre-pulldown timecode of the current
tape. You can use setup menu item 148 "PULL DOWN
TIME CODE PANEL DISPLAY" to select display of two

lines of timecode (pre-pulldown and post-pulldown) at the
same time.
Timecode superimposed on video signals
The timecode superimposed on video signals is normally
the post-pulldown timecode. To display the pre-pulldown
timecode of the current tape at the same time, you can set
setup menu item 005 "DISPLAY INFORMATION
SELECT" to the appropriate setting.
Superimposed character information
When F5 (CHARA) in function menu page P04: MISC-1
is selected, the video signal output from the HDSDI
OUTPUT 3 (SUPER), SDI OUTPUT 3 (SUPER) or
COMPOSITE VIDEO OUTPUT 3 (SUPER) connector
can contain superimposed text information, including
timecode, menu settings, and alarm messages.
To adjust the character display
You can adjust the position, size and type of the
superimposed characters using setup menu items 002, 003,
005, 009, and 011.

Menu" in the Operation Manual.

Notes
• The display shown above corresponds to the factory
default settings of the HDW-1800/D1800.
Changing the setting in setup menu item 005 displays
different time data in the lower line of the display.
• Character information superimposed on HDSDI output
in 23.98PD2 mode is the same as the information
superimposed on 23.98PsF mode output, which does not
undergo pulldown conversion.
