6 Function
The lubrication unit LU 2 has two operating modes:
• TIME mode
• IMPULSE mode
How is lubrication done:
Lubrication process (example: impulse mode):
• In order to achieve good lubrication of the chain, the conveyor section should be in
operation (the chain is in motion).
• The PLC (programmable logic controller) issues the signal to the LU 2 for delivering
lubricant (= interruption of the supply voltage for more than 20 seconds).
• When the supply voltage returns, the servo motor starts up the LU 2 and pushes
the preset quantity of lubricant into the lubrication lines.
• The lubricant divides at the T-piece and is fed via the hose lines to the two
lubricating pins in the drive heads.
• The lubricant drips onto the lubrication points (links) of the chain running below
via the drip nozzles of the lubricating pins.
• The lubricant is distributed onto the neighboring sections of the chain during
operation.

regular intervals.
• The lubricant divides at the T-piece and is fed via the hose lines to the two

via the drip nozzles of the lubricating pins.
• The lubricant is distributed onto the neighboring sections of the chain
during operation.
