16.4 Suspension seat posts
Suspension seat posts are installed instead
of rigid seat posts and cushion road irregu-
larities/shocks on the saddle.
Suspension seat posts are differentiated
between telescopic seat posts and parallel-
ogram seat posts depending on the design.
In the case of telescopic seat posts with a
suspension, a thinner stanchion dips into
another lower leg when the suspension is
compressed. Parallelogram seat posts, on
the other hand, push the saddle downward
additionally to the rear during compression
due to the design. Due to this movement,
the seat height changes less during com-
pression than with telescopic seat posts,
but the distance between the saddle and
handlebars increases during compression.
Important: Have your FLYER spe-
i
cialist dealer instruct you on how to
adjust and use the suspension seat
post.
