SEITE 6 - 148 x 210 mm - 139/0/-/52+F -
Build up the entire restoration surface by surface in
layers of max.1 mm thickness, and light-cure each layer
separately using the Visio Alfa device.
Corrections can be made with a scalpel.
Reseal the dispenser immediately after use to prevent
the formation of clogs!
Reapplication of the Dispersion Layer
The dispersion layer must be reapplied if it was
inadvertently touched by hand or became otherwise
contaminated.
Clean the contaminated surface, if any, with a lint-free
cloth.
Apply Sinfony Activator with a clean short brush and
lightly massage the substance into the surface. Do not
cure with light!
Continue layering as described under "Building-up the
tooth contours".
Notes on Building-up the Tooth Contours
! !
The tooth contours should be built up without any
! !
major delays to ensure optimal bonding and prevent
contamination.
! !
! !
Sinfony polymerized with the Visio Alfa device must
not be subjected to grinding. The mechanical strain
of grinding may cause cracks to form causing the
material to chip off.
Building-up the Tooth Contours in 2 Steps
! !
! !
Building-up the tooth contours in 2 steps -
i.e. 1., dentin layering followed by polymerization
in the Visio Beta Vario device, grinding down;
and 2., incisal layering - should only be done in
"emergencies". Even exercising greatest care in
this procedure, the bonding strength between
the vacuum-cured dentin and the subsequently
applied layers is only approx. 80% (on average) of
the usual strength of the material. For this reason,
continuous layering until the final tooth contour
is attained followed by final polymerization is
always preferable, since it affords superior bonding
quality!
However, if there is an emergency and the incisal
layering or shape corrections must be made after
polymerization in the Visio Beta Vario device, it is
essential to comply with the procedure described
under "Correction after shaping"!
Color Control
Sinfony polymerizes only if exposed to light. The yellow
color of the polymerization photoinitiator is bleached only
during the final polymerization in the Visio Beta Vario.
Therefore, a definitive color control can be done only after
final polymerization.

Polymerization
Each layer must be polymerized separately (intermediate
polymerization) for 5 sec with the Visio Alfa device.

Final polymerization is done in the Visio Beta Vario
device without a stone model, using 1 min of light
exposure plus 14 min of light plus vacuum.

Applying and curing excessively thick layers with-
out polymerizing the material in between causes
tension to form, which may lead to chipping!
During intermediate polymerization, a dispersion
layer remains on the composite's surface which is
required for bonding to the subsequent layer. This
dispersion layer must not be removed!
The quartz rod of the Visio Alfa device should
be regularly cleaned. The cleaning procedure is
described in the Operating Manual of the Visio Alfa
device.
The photoinitiator looses its color during poly-
merization, and the Sinfony material attains the
desired translucency.
The polymerization chamber of the Visio Beta Vario
device must be kept clean. The reflector located
behind the lamps should be regularly cleaned. The
cleaning procedure is described in the Operating
Manual of the Visio Beta Vario device under
"Maintenance".
If the polymerization chamber is strongly conta-
minated, soak respective areas in isopropanol or
ethanol keeping the lid closed, and then remove
the contamination with a cloth.
Acetone or acetic acid esters should not be used as
these agents dissolve the rubber gasket.
