Please note the included General Safety Notes and the following
safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:
Make sure the voltage corresponds to the type label on the unit.
Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed
to use the unit, unless they are supervised for their safety by a qualified
person or are briefed by the responsible person how to use the unit.
Please read the safety notes most carefully. Handling this unit incorrectly
may be hazardous for persons and property. Westfalia do not assume
liability for damages caused by incorrect handling.
Only use the unit for its intended use, for manual arc welding with coated
electrodes. The unit is not designed for continuous commercial use.
Only use the welding machine with the included accessory. Before
operating the unit, check if the welding cables are damaged. Do not use
damaged accessory. Wear on the insulation and the voltage-carrying parts
may result in dangerous conditions and reduce the quality of the welding
work. Only use original replacement parts that can be requested by West-
falia.
Observe the local and national codes when operating the unit in danger-
ous areas. Do not use the welding machine in potentially explosive loca-
tion. Do not weld on tanks, vessels or pipes that contain or have contained
inflammable liquids or gases. Remove all inflammable parts from the weld-
ing machine. Arc welding generates sparks. There is danger of explosion!
Always wear safety shoes and suitable, fire-resistant safety clothing.
These protect against electric shock, harmful heat and ultraviolet (UV)
radiation and from glowing metal and slag spatter.
Wear dry safety clothing that is free of oil and grease in order to protect
you against ultraviolet radiation of the electric arc and unintentional igni-
tion. Please note that the arc radiation (UV light) can damage your eyes
and cause burns on skin.
Always ensure adequate ventilation in the working area. Welding causes
harmful vapours.
Personnel in the vicinity should also wear safety clothing. Uninvolved
persons should keep a sufficient distance from the working area.
Do not operate the welding machine in damp and wet environment. Do not
let water, dust, dirt and metallic parts enter the interior of the welding ma-
chine.
