In standby operation, the power pack has a power consumption of up to a few
Watts. This does not sound like much, but some kWh (kilowatt hours) can add
up per month in case of longer standby periods, which are consumed for noth-
ing.
Do not pull on the power cable to unplug it from the outlet! Always pull the plug out
of the outlet by grasping it on the riffled sides.
Do not touch the power pack and the mains cable/plug with
damp or wet hands! Danger of mortal electric shock!

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Check the technical safety of the power pack at regular intervals, e.g. for damages
on the power cable or the housing.
If safe operation can no longer be assured, put the power pack out of
operation and protect it from being used again accidentally! Always
pull the power plug out of the socket!
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if
- the appliance shows visible damage,
- the appliance no longer works and
- after long storage under adverse conditions or
- after heavy transport strain.
Make sure you observe the following safety notices prior to cleaning or servic-
ing the power pack:
There are no parts to be maintained by the user on the inside of the
power pack.
When opening the covers or removing parts of the housing, you may
expose live parts.
Prior to cleaning, maintenance or repair work, separate the power
pack from all voltage sources and pull the power plug out of the outlet!
Merely turning the computer off via the on/off switch is not sufficient!
Condensers in the appliance may still be charged, even if the power
pack was disconnected from all voltage sources.

5. Installation
If you do not have the necessary expertise for installation, let an
EXPERT or a corresponding workshop carry out the installation.
Improper installation will damage the power pack as well as your
computer and all connected appliances. Besides, this is tied to
risks like short circuit, electric shock or the risk of fire.
Careful, Mortal Danger!
Turn off the computer into which you want to install the power
pack as well as all other connected appliances, separate all appli-
ances from the mains voltage and pull the power plug! Merely
turning the computer off via the on/off switch is not sufficient!
• Open the housing of your computer and carefully remove the cover.
• If the power pack is supposed to replace an old, defect power pack, you first have
to uninstall the old power pack. Carefully loosen all connection plugs for the main-
board and the installed appliances. Grasp the old power pack and remove all
attachment screws in order to take it put of the PC.
• Screw the new power pack onto the inside of your PC housing with 4 screws (inch
screw thread, thread length approx. 5 mm).
• Connect the broad ATX plug with the corresponding socket on the mainboard.
Careful!
If you apply force, it is also possible to plug the ATX plug in the wrong
way around. The ATX plug must be easy to fit and then snap into place
with the clip on the side.
• The power pack also has a 4-pole ATX2.0-12V plug, which is often required with
mainboards for Intel Pentium IV processors.
Via the plug, the +12 V voltage is guided to the mainbaord via extra cables, which
is supposed to relieve the corresponding +12 V cable of the ATX power plug.
If you mainboard features a matching 4-pole socket, connect this with the ATX2.0-
12V plug by all means; otherwise the mainboard may not function correctly.
