• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all the settings
and cable connections.
Before you open the housing to check, remember to switch off all devices and
remove them from the mains voltage. Pull out the mains power plug.
Handling
• Take note of all the safety instructions in these operating instructions!
• The product is to be used only in dry indoor locations. Do not expose to moisture,
under any circumstances! Never touch the device and the mains cable/plug when
your hands are wet or damp! There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during trans-
port:
- Excessive humidity or dampness
- Extreme cold or heat
- Direct sunlight
- Dust or fl ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fi elds such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Ensure that the computer/power unit is ventilated adequately at the place of set-
up. The computer has to be set up/installed so air circulation is possible. Never
cover the ventilation openings of the power unit; never cover the computer when it
is in use.
• Do not insert any object, e.g. paper clip, ballpoint pen, pin, sewing needle or
knitting needle, etc., into the ventilation slots or device openings.
• Children may try to insert objects (e.g. toys) into the ventilation slots, device open-
ings of the power adapter or the computer.
This could damage the power adapter and the computer in which it is installed.
Furthermore, there is a risk of a lethal electric shock if you touch electrical cables
and terminals!
• When setting up the product, make sure that none of the cables are bent or
squeezed.
• Always check the power unit (and the computer) for damage each time before
using it. If you detect any damage, DO NOT connect the power adapter or the
computer to the mains voltage! This presents a danger to life!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the device does not operate any longer and
- the product was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not pull on the cable of the power plug to unplug it from the mains socket or
from the connection on the power adapter. Otherwise, the cable can be damaged,
danger of lethal electric shock!
• The power unit must not be opened. There are no serviceable parts inside.
• If the power unit (or the computer in which it is installed) is not used for a longer
period of time (e.g. during storage), switch it off via the mains switch and additio-
nally pull the plug of the mains cable out of the mains socket.
• If you only switch off the computer via the power button on the front of the com-
puter housing, then the computer or the power supply unit is in "standby" mode
(similar to a television). This is why the computer must be unplugged from the
mains before installation work is carried out on your computer (e.g. when inserting
a plug-in card). Switch the power adapter off via the mains switch and disconnect
it from the mains voltage; unplug the mains plug.
• The power supply unit does consume power (however little) in "standby" mode.
This is why a slight warmth is normal. In the "standby" mode, some kWh (kilowatt
hours) can accumulate per month. Depending on the price of electricity, this may
means costs of about 1 - 2 Euro per month, which could be saved easily if you
switch off the power unit through the mains switch.

Maintenance

The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any
reason. There are no serviceable parts inside.
Servicing or repairs and any associated opening of the power adapter may be carried out only
by a specialist or a specialist workshop.
The fuse that is installed in the power adapter can be replaced only by using a special tool. This
is why you should not try to replace the fuse yourself, but leave it to an expert or a specialized
workshop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of as domestic waste!
Please dispose of the product when it is no longer of use according to current statu-
tory requirements.
Tips & Notes
• The power adapter is in "standby" mode after it had been switched off with the power button
on the PC housing (similar to a television).
The power adapter still has a certain power consumption in the "standby" mode. This is why
you should also switch off the power adapter using the mains switch, in order to save energy,
when you do not need your computer.
A so-called power manager (housings with sockets at the rear and On/Off switch at the front,
the housing can be placed, for example, under the printer or monitor) or multiple socket
outlets with power switch can be used to avoid having to search for the power switch on the
rear of the computer.
• Almost all motherboards have a 4-pin ATX2.0 connection for the +12 V voltage; connect this
to the corresponding plug of the PC power supply.
The connection serves for a better supply of the on/off controller on the motherboard (which
generates the electricity or the voltage for the CPU) and for a relief of the +12 V line of the
ATX mains plug. If the plug is not connected, the motherboard may not start or a warning
message may appear.
• If the computer does not start when you press the button on the front of the computer hous-
ing, check whether the mains switch on the power adapter is switched on.
If you have just assembled the computer, check whether all cables are connected correctly.
Are the boards plugged in correctly, is the CPU fan connected? If the graphics card has a
separate bus bar, it has to be connected with the appropriate connector on a power adapter!
