Execute Auto Setup


CAUTION
Do not stare into emitted light!
Risk of glare and irritation!
→ The device must be mounted in such a way that, even during operating no staring into the light
source is possible.
1. Press on the Auto Setup button for at least 2 and to a maximum of 4 seconds.
a. Afterwards, the Auto Setup process will start and 1 red target LED will light up.
2. Position the BVS ID using the red light beam to point to the target object which includes the code.
Please note the following:
a. The code on the target object must be within the permissible range of the BVS ID (5 to 60
centimeters).
b. Only one code should be within the field of view of the BVS ID during the Auto Setup process.
c. If the surface of the object with the code is reflective, the alignment to the code should not be
perpendicular, but should deviate from the perpendicular by approx. 10° to 20°.
d. The target object with the code must not move during the Auto Setup process.
3. Then fix the BVS ID.
4. Press the Auto Setup button to confirm the positioning of the BVS ID.
a. Now, the BVS ID automatically sets the brightness, the focus, and the code type. The process
will take up to 2 minutes. In doing so, the BVS ID will flash several times.
b. As soon as the Auto Setup process is finished, the BVS ID will confirm this with a final flashing.
For this, there are the following flashing codes:
i. Light up for 3 seconds → Auto Setup was successful
Six-times short flashing → Auto Setup failed
ii.
c. Finally, the BVS ID sets the Ready and the Waiting for Trigger bit (see chapter Data Interfaces).
5.3

Adapt settings

With the SensorApp the BVS ID can be adapted. This is
1. mandatory if the Auto Setup process was not successful,
2. optional, to check the automatically set parameters and to optimize them manually after a successful
Auto Setup process, or
3. optional, to adapt network or communcation settings manually.
Perform the following steps:
1. Open a web browser.
2. Enter the following URL: http://192.168.10.2/.
3. Confirm the entry.

