The following network structures are possible and adaptable via SensorApp:
Structure
BVS ID and PC are in the same subnet of a local
network and no DHCP server is available for
automatic IP assignment.
BVS ID and PC are connected directly via a LAN
cable.
BVS ID and PC are in the same subnet of a local
network and a DHCP server is available for
automatic IP assignment.
BVS ID and PC are in different subnets of a local
network.
Connecting the BVS ID via IO-Link with an accordingly configured IO-Link Master, then the BVS ID is running in
IO-Link communication mode. In this case, the Auto Setup can be executed as an option.
Consequences
In this case, the IP addresses of PC and BVS ID must
be matched and manually set. Pertinent useful notes are
located in the BVS ID Configuration Guide section
System Menu → System Settings → Network.
Both devices will be assigned with LLA/Zeroconf IP
addresses 169.254.x.x automatically. The PC needs to
be set to "Obtain IP addresses automatically". The BVS
ID is accessible using (http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.local -
see BVS ID part label).
IP addresses are set automatically.
Subnets are explicitly created to be able to subdivide
computers in different networks and to structure it in this
way. Since the different subnets, on the other hand, are
connected via switches, the communication with the
BVS ID is still possible. Pertinent useful notes are
