Use expanded functions (see Section 2.7 I/O module revision history):
If the functions for FW: 1.1 or higher are used, use also the master GSDML file (version: 2018-
06-01) and the P-Tool V2.2 or higher.
Device replacement/backward compatibility:
It is possible to replace an I/O module with FW: 1.03 with a module having FW: 1.1. The existing
GSDML file and P-Tool version can be kept. The 1.1 devices are backward compatible.
As soon as safe I/O modules have been configured in an application with GSDML 2018-06-01,
the safe I/O modules having FW 1.1 or higher must be used and checked for plausibility using
the P-Tool V2.2. In this case a device may only be replaced with a module having the same
version.
If an incompatible pair is selected (see compatibility matrix), a positive checksum (F_iPAR_CRC)
between the P-Tool and F-PLC and thereby startup of the device are not possible. This is
indicated in the display of the safe I/O module by error code 69 (see Section 15.4 Error codes on
page 95).
Note
The GSDML 2016-09-01 can be used in combination with both I/O module versions.
Then however the I/O module functions FW: 1.1 or higher cannot be used (see
Section 2.7 on page 9).
The GSDML 2018-06-01 works together only with the I/O module FW: 1.1 or higher
and P-Tool Version 2.2 or higher.
The P-Tool Version 2.2 is, like the GSDML 2018-06-01, a prerequisite for use of the
I/O module functions FW: 1.1 and higher (see Section 2.7 on page 9).
Only one GSDML version can be used on a master module. If multiple safe I/O
modules are connected to a master module, the same GSDML function range applies
to all.
If the GSDML function range 2018-06-01 is required on only one of the connected
safe I/O modules, all other connected I/O modules must also correspond to FW: 1.1
(see compatibility matrix).
