The BNI IOF-329-P02-Z038 is a decentralized safety input and output module. It is connected
like a standard IO-Link device to a Balluff PROFINET IO-Link master. The PROFIsafe protocol is
used for safe communication.
The safe I/O module communicates with the higher level safe controller based on a safe network
protocol (PROFIsafe) through a standard fieldbus master. IO-Link serves as the communication
channel (so-called tunneling/black channel) for sending the safe information between the fieldbus
master and the safe I/O module.
