Warning
Nobody must be in the shaft while
lowering and raising the pump.
Always raise and lower the pump
with the chain, never use the electrical
cable for this purpose.
When lowered, the pump (Pos 1) is coupled automati-
cally to the coupling foot (Pos 2).
4.1.2 Wet installation with floor supporting ring
(Bf 12)
Fig. 9
Dimensions are shown in section 13.
1. Fix the floor supporting ring (3) to the suction branch
of the pump (1) with the screws supplied.
2. Hook hoisting chain (4) to motor with shackle
on eyelet above. Bring pump (1) with pump base (3)
slowly into the shaft with the corresponding hoist
and align.
3. Screw discharge pipe bend (7) tightly to the pump
delivery branch.
4. Fix discharge pipe (5) to discharge pipe bend (7),
lay free from stress and anchor sufficiently.
5. Place fittings (8) in the discharge pipe according
to the usual installation principles (see also fig. 5).
6. Fix hoisting chain (4) at upper end to cover of pump
shaft and secure against falling.
7. Suspend motor connection cable of pump
of suitable length in shaft with tension relief.
Ensure that the cable cannot buckle or be damaged.

4.1.3 Dry installation (Bf 13 / Bf 16)

A feed pipe must be connected to the pump casing
when installing the pumps outside the collector shaft.
Only versions with motor cooling jacket are suitable
for dry installation.
58
It is possible to mount the pump horizontally
or vertically.
1. Fit pump stand or supporting feet to pump.
2. Mark position of pump on floor, drill and anchor
with the heavy duty dowels.
3. Install suction and discharge pipe with fittings free
from stress according to the usual installation
principles.

4.1.4 Fitting float switches

Fig. 10

Dimensions are shown in section 13.
The wall mountings (Z, fig. 6 or 9) for the float switches
should be fixed in the upper part of the shaft accessible
from the shaft cover (ease of servicing).
– The «Pump off» float switch (lowest float switch)
must be set so that parameter S3
(see «Technical data») is observed.
For small shafts and wherever overheating
of the motor can be excluded, the «Pump off»
float switch may be placed up to 5 cm above
the suction opening of the pump.
– The «Pump on» float switch (middle float switch)
should be set so that at least the effective volume
is present between «Pump off» and «Pump on».
In other words, the pump should take at least
one minute to discharge the effective volume.
When determining the effective volume,
the maximum number of starts per hour
(see «Technical data») should be considered
and observed.
– The «Level high» float switch should be placed
a little above the «Pump on» float switch, so that
a major proportion of the spare volume is still present
when an alarm is given.
– Additional information can be found in the installation
instructions for the level control 08 0515.2006.
Important: Satisfactory operation of the level control
must be checked without fail with a trial run every time
after changing the float switch fixing.
