A frequently asked question is " W h a t r / m i n
should I cruiseat 1/2". The B R E A K - I N section
provides limitations when the motorcycle is
new, but once the engine has been broken in,
then we suggest that y o u f o l l o w these guide
lines. For sustained load and t h r o t t l e con-
ditions, such as those encountered on open
highways, cruise at 3/4 t h r o t t l e or at 3/4 of
the r / m i n , " r e d l i n e " , whichever comes first.
This is a recommendation, not a " h a r d and
f a s t " rule. Always bear in m i n d , t h o u g h , the
m a x i m u m allowable speed l i m i t f o r the area
through which y o u are riding. A n y modifica-
t i o n or personalization of the gearing could
possibly change the operating ränge most com-
fortable and most efficient f o r the engine.
