17. Cleaning and Maintenance

a) Notes on Cleaning

• Clean the whole vehicle of dust and dirt after driving, use e.g. a long-haired clean brush and a vacuum
cleaner. Compressed air aerosoles can also be helpful.
• Do not use cleaning aerosols or conventional household cleaners. This might damage the electronics
and cause the discoloration of the synthetic parts or the car body.
• A soft cloth, slightly dampened can be used to wipe the car body. Don't rub too hard, otherwise there will
be scratch marks or the paint will be damaged.
b) Maintenance works
• At certain intervals, maintenance works and function controls that ensure trouble-free operation and
roadworthiness for a long time must be performed on the vehicle.
Engine vibrations and shocks during driving can loosen parts and screw fittings. This is why you should
check the tight position of wheel nuts and all screw fittings. The same applies for other parts of the
vehicle.
• Check whether the tires sit correctly on the wheel rims and whether the adhesions have loosened.
• All ball bearings or gears in the vehicle have been provided with suitable lubricants by the manufacturer.
Normally no relubrication is necessary.
However, the joints on the vehicle and the wheel bearings require occasional cleaning and relubrication
with suitable lubricants (available in accessory shops). The same applies when replacing drive parts or
gears.
• At regular intervals, check the cord of the pull cable starter for traces of wear and tear.
• It is imperative that you remove excessive oil or fat since this is where dust settles particularly quickly
again. You could also pollute the environment!
• Treat the engine with an after-run oil after every use and, if it is not used for a longer period of time, with
a preserving oil.
• Wash the air filter at regular intervals and lubricate it again afterwards with air filter oil.
• If worn or broken vehicle parts have to be exchanged, please only use original replacement parts that can
be ordered via our customer service.
• Make sure that no cables are pinched or caught.
• Check the model and the remote control for damage before each use! If you notice any damages, the
product must not be used anymore and has to be taken out of operation. Bring it to a specialized work-
shop.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if
- the device exhibits visible damage
- the device does not operate any longer and
- the device was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable conditions.
- the device was submitted to stress during transportation.
• Always separate the rechargeable battery pack from the receiver when the vehicle is not in use. Take the
batteries (or rechargeable batteries) out of the remote control.
