Dabei muss sich der rote bzw. orange Anschlussdraht
auf der Seite befinden, an der neben der Schnittstel-
lenbuchse eine Markierung auf der Schaltplatine der
Lok zu finden ist (häufig ein „*" oder „+").
Bringen Sie den Decoder in dem vom Lokhersteller vor-
gesehenen Einbauplatz unter. Ist dieser Platz nicht vor-
handen, so können Sie den Decoder auch im Dachbe-
reich oder im Führerstand montieren.
Kleben Sie in der Nähe befindliche Metallteile mit Iso-
lierband ab. Befestigen Sie den Decoder falls nötig mit
einem Klebepad.
Decoder nicht in Isolierband einwickeln, da es die Wärme-
abfuhr behindert und zu thermischer Überlastung führt.
Einbau in Loks ohne
NEM 652-Schnittstelle
Sie können den Decoder auch in Loks ohne NEM 652-
Schnittstelle einbauen. Schneiden Sie dazu den Stecker
nahe am Steckergehäuse ab. Beachten Sie unbedingt die
Belegung der Anschlüsse (Tabelle links) und die Abb. 1.
► Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse der Lok und legen Sie die
Stelle fest, an der Sie den Decoder einbauen wollen.
► Trennen Sie die Verbindungen des Motors zu den
Schienenabnehmern bzw. bei Loks mit elektro-
nischem Umschalter die Verbindungen des Umschal-
ters zum Motor und zu den Schienenabnehmern. Der
Umschalter wird nicht mehr benötigt, Sie können ihn
ausbauen.
► Löten Sie die von den Schienen a bnehmern kommen-
den Anschlüsse an den Punkten X1 und X2 an.
► Löten Sie dann die vom Motor kommenden Anschlüs-
se an den Punkten X4 und X5 an. Sollte die Fahrtrich-
tung der Lok im Analogbetrieb nicht mit der am Trafo
eingestellten Fahrtrichtung übereinstimmen, müssen
Sie die Anschlüsse X4 und X5 austauschen.
Beachten Sie:
Die Entstörmittel, die am Motor oder in der Zulei-
tung angebracht sind, dürfen nicht entfernt wer-
den! Motor und Entstörmittel bilden eine Einheit.
Wird nur ein Teil entfernt, kann es zu erheblichen
elektrischen Störungen kommen.
Anschluss von Verbrauchern an die
Funktionsausgänge
Prüfen Sie vor dem Anschluss der Beleuchtung und wei-
terer Zusatzgeräte an die Funktionsausgänge, ob der
Strom unterhalb des maximal zulässigen Wertes von
300 mA pro Anschluss liegt und der Gesamtstrom ein-
schließlich Motorstrom 1.500 mA nicht übersteigt. Wer-
den Beleuchtungen oder andere Verbraucher mit einem
Strom von mehr als 300 mA an den Decoder angeschlos-
sen oder beträgt der Gesamtstrom aller angeschlossenen
Verbraucher und des Motors mehr als 1.500 mA, wird der
Decoder bei der Inbetriebnahme beschädigt.
Entfernen Sie eventuell vorhandene Dioden in den Zulei-
tungen zu den Lampen.
Schließen Sie die Zusatzgeräte an die Funktionsausgän-
ge (AUX1 bis AUX2) des Decoders an. Die Zuordnung
der Ausgänge zu den Funktionstasten erfolgt während
der Programmierung des Decoders.

The decoder should be put into the place designated for
the decoder by the loco manufacturer. Is there no specific
place, you can place the decoder in the roof area or in
the driver's cab.
Insulate all metal parts close to the decoder but don't
wrap the decoder with insulation tape to avoid overheat-
ing. Otherwise the decoder may be thermally overloaded.
If necessarry fix the decoder with a double sided adhe-
sive pad.
Mounting in locos without interface
as per NEM 652
Before you start, completely insulate the motor and its
termi-nals against the chassis of the locomotive and the
current pick-ups (wheel pick-ups). Remember which mo-
tor terminal was connected with the right or left wheel
pick-up.
Mounting the deocder into a loco without interface is pos-
sible too. Cut off the connector from the decoder near by
the connector housing. Notice the table on the left page
and figure 1 which shows the connection diagram.
► Open the locomotive housing. Locate the position for
the decoder.
► Disconnect the motor from the rail current collector or
the change-over switch from the motor and rails if you
have a locomotive with electronic change-over switch.
The change-over switch is no longer necessary, you
can remove it.
► Solder the connection to the slider at point X1, and the
connection to the housing to point X2. These two con-
nections can be exchanged without effecting function-
ality.
► Next solder the connections of the field coil to the
points X4 and X5 and the connection of the motor
sheild to the point COM. Should the locomotive´s di-
rection of motion in analogue mode not match the di-
rection of motion set at the speed control you have to
swap the connections to the points X4 and X5.
Attention:
The interference suppression devices mounted to
the motor or the connecting wire must not be re-
moved! Motor and interference suppression devic-
es are one unit. If even one part is removed, it can
cause extreme interference!
Connecting accessories to the outputs
Before connecting the lighting and other accessories to
the outputs check if the current is below the maximum
permissible value of 300 mA per output and the total cur-
rent is below 1.500 mA (including motor current). If light-
ing or other accessories with current larger than 300 mA
are connected, or if the total current of the motor and the
accessories is higher than 1.500 mA the decoder will be
damaged when put into operation.
Disconnect any existing diodes in the leads to the lamps.
Connect the lamps and the accessories to the function
outputs (AUX1 to AUX2) of the decoder. The assignment
of the function outputs to the function keys will be made
when programming the decoder.
