Setting up the device

The mixing desk is designed as a tabletop appliance.
Make certain that when you are selecting a place for the mixing
desk that the ventilation openings, the rear of the desk and the
adaptor plug will not covered up. Make sure there is adequate ven-
tilation. Never place the appliance on a soft surface such as, a car-
pet or a bed etc. Apart from this, the air circulation should not be
obstructed by objects such as magazines, table cloths, curtains or
similar.
This hinders the heat extraction from the appliance and can lead to
overheating (risk of fire!).
Do not drill any holes or screws into the appliance in order to attach
it somewhere as it may cause it damage and impair its safety.
When installing the product, ensure that it is on a safe stand which
is itself on stable ground. There is risk of persons being injured if
the mixer fell over.
When setting up the appliance, make sure that the connection
cable is not being pinched or damaged by any sharp edges. Always
handle the mains connection cable with the appropriate care
Always lay the cables so that no-one can stumble over them or
become entangled in them. There is risk of injury!
When selecting a place to set up the appliance, make sure that
direct, intensive sunlight, vibration, dust, heat, cold and moisture
are avoided.
No other appliances with strong electric or magnetic fields, for
example transformers, engines, radio telephones, radios or PCs
may be located in the vicinity of the mixer as these could affect it.
Due to the large variety of paints and polishes used for furniture, it can-
not be ruled out that the feet of the appliance may leave visible marks
on the furniture. For this reason, protect the surface of valuable furnitu-
re appropriately when placing the appliance on it.

(41) FX SEND output (effect output)
You can connect your external effect unit to this asymmetrical mono jack socket out-
put. The sum of all the FX channel signals is here (depending on the setting to the
corresponding channel FX control)
(42) MAIN OUT (L, R)
Both of these jack sockets are the source of the MASTER signal (mixed audio output
signal) The jack sockets are all symmetrically laid out (3 contacts). Connect the input
of your amplifier to this output socket The jack socket labelled "R" is the right output
and the jack socket labelled "L" is the left output.

WARNING
(44) On/off switch
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
DO NOT OPEN
The mixer, when powered via an adaptor plug, is swit-
ched on/off using this mains switch.
• Switch in the "I" position = mixing desk is switched on
• Switch in the "0" position = mixing desk is switched off
When powered by batteries this switch is out of function.
(45) Battery compartment
On the back of the appliance there are 3 battery compartments, to be used for the
voltage supply to the mixing desk (MASTER POWER), and for the phantom power
supply (PHANTOM POWER). Place the appropriate 9V block batteries in the three
battery compartments, if you want to operate the mixing desk via batteries instead of
the mains.
The use of accumulator batteries is not recommended. Due to the low
capacity and voltage of the batteries the operating time of the mixing
desk is limited and the phantom power for the condensor microphone
may not be sufficient.
