Mains adaptor plug operation:
Plug the low voltage connection of the mains adaptor into the voltage supply socket
on the mixing desk. Tighten the connection up with the slide over housing to pre-
(43)
vent loosening. Insert the plug-in power unit into a (230V~/50Hz) mains socket.
Battery operation
You have the possibilities of running the appliance off the mains or by using batte-
ries. Be aware that when the mixing desk is battery powered it only has a duration of
a few hours. It is therefore advisable for environmental and financial reasons to
power the appliance mostly via the mains whenever possible.
Pull the three battery compartments (45)out of the rear of the mixing desk. Insert
three 9V alkaline block batteries in their correct polarity. The correct polarity can be
read off the symbols in the battery compartment. Insert the battery compartments
back into the battery port on the mixing desk. The battery compartments supply the
mixing desk with a voltage (called MASTER POWER) and supply the phantom power
(PHANTOM POWER).
Keep batteries away from children. Do not leave the batteries lying
around in the open; there is the risk that they will be swallowed by
children or pets. If swallowed, immediately contact a doctor. Make
sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries.
Make sure that the batteries are not shorted, opened or thrown into
a fire. Never recharge the batteries. Danger of explosion! Remove
the batteries from the appliance if you do not require it for a longer
period (> 1 monat).
The batteries need changing when the sounds start to distort, when the volume
levels drop drastically, when there is sufficient phantom power or the appliance
does not work correctly

(11) BATT ON switch
The BATT ON switch is necessary when the mixing desk is being powered by bat-
tery. To prolong battery life each individual channel can be turned on or off only
when necessary. If you are not using a channel, simply turn the BATT ON switch off
(switch is in raised position).
To avoid interference that could result from operating the BATT ON
switch, slide the channel fader right down before turning on or off. If the
mixing desk is powered from the mains, then the BATT ON switch
is not in use.
(12) Channel faders
The channel faders are for adjusting the level of each seperate channel.
• Position "∞" = minimum level
• Position "10" = maximum level
Channels that are not in use should be turned right down (position "∞").
This reduces the possibility of interference.
(13) PAN control
The PAN control is a kind of balance setting for the mono signal. The PAN control
divides the mono signal between the left and right channels. The middle position is
reached when the dial lightly clicks into place, and the mono signal is then exactly
divided between the left and right channel.
