8.1.1
Only the signals RxD, TxD and GND are required. The reference ground (GND) is connected
with the supply ground of the WE2108.
8.1.2
The interface of the WE2108 is an asynchronous serial interface. Commands and answers
consist of several characters, these in turn of 10 or 11 bits, which are transmitted one after
the other over the same line.
Asynchronous means that no clock signal on a separate line is required. The bits follow one
another in a fixed time interval which is determined by the baud rate.
The meaning of the bits:

Mode of operation
One start bit (identifies the transmission start and synchronizes the receiver)
8 data bits, which represent the transmitted byte (0...255)
One parity bit (optional, for detection of transmission errors)
One stop bit

Word length = 8 data bits

For the communication with an external unit, its TxD
line must be connected with RxD of the WE2108 and

vice versa.
