Operation

Operating
Please check noise abatement regulations prevailing in your
country.
Filling in the engine oil (Fig. )
Before starting up, you have to fill in 0.5 l to 0.6 . of the brand-
name oil HD S E 30 up to "Full" marking on the dip stick (not
above the marking). Plug in the dip stick in accordance with
(1), and screw in (2); check the oil level.
Before scarifying, always be sure to check the oil level.
Filling in fuel (Fig. B)
No smoking, and no open flames! Do not tank up with the
engine running. Do not squirt fuel while the engine is warm.
Use lead-free regular petrol (not Super Plus).

Only with motor switched off and non-mowing aeriating roller.
The operating depth must be adjusted to the corresponding
grass and ground conditions.
• Move operating lever towards front.

- Pull operating lever up again.
- Start tool.
- Push operating lever slowly forward.
- Move tool slowly into operating direction.
- On hearing stones being hit or blocking of the motor imme-
diately switch off tool.
- Turn rotating handle 1–2 rotations towards the left (–) - (One
revolution corresponds to 1,5 mm.)
- Start aeriating test again.
• When used regularly the aeriating depth may be adjusted
according to the wear of the blade (+).
• When the blades have worn to the wear indicator H (1), have
the complete replaceable roller replaced at a WOLF service
shop.
Maintenance
Before all maintenance and cleaning work, pull off the
spark plug connector.
fter each use, clean the scarifier with a hand brush.
Do not by any means spray down with water. Store the
scarifier in a dry room.
Change oil
lways change the engine oil with the engine warm, and
the tank empty.
Do so the first time after the first five hours of operation. Then
every 25 hours of operation, or no later than the end of the
mowing season. When used under difficult or dusty conditions,
do so more frequently. Open the oil filling connection piece,
slowly tilt the scarifier to the side and let the oil drain out. Dis-
pose of the used oil according to local regulations. Note: Oil
must not get into the ground.
Clean the spark plug
Dirty spark plugs reduce the engine performance. Clean the
spark plug and check to be sure the spark plug gap is correct
(0.76 mm).
Clean the air filter
See the Operating Instructions from the manufacturer of the
engine (enclosed).

Cold start
1. Move the Work Control Lever D (1) to the rear.
2. Firmly press the primer on the motor (E) (three times).
3. Raise and hold the safety bracket D (2).
4. Pull starter grip F (1) and return it slowly by hand.
Warm start
1. Raise and hold the safety bracket D (2).
2. Pull starter grip F (1) and return it slowly by hand.
Stop Motor
Release safety bracket D (2).
• If the motor does not start in cold weather, press the primer.
• If the motor stops due to lack of fuel, refill with fuel and
press the primer firmly (three times).
Pull off the spark plug connector. To replace the replace-
able roller* and to clean the front chassis area, tilt the scarifier
to the rear as shown in the illustration. Before doing so:
Empty the tank and move the top part of the grip forward (see
"Only move top part of grip" Fig. M4/M5).
*Only at WOLF service shops!
• Empty the tank
• Empty the carburettor:
- To do so, start and engine and let it run until it stops by
itself.
• Clean the scarifier thoroughly.
• Change the oil.
• Preserve the engine as follows:
- Twist out the spark plug, and put one tablespoon of
engine oil in the opening for the spark plug.
- Slowly pull the starter rope all the way out (to distribute
oil in the cylinder). Screw the spark plug back, but do not
put the spark plug connector back on.
• Store the scarifier in a cool and dry place.
