General

Remote Service is possible only when requested by a customer and only with the consent of this cus-
tomer. The provider (WEBEX) warrants a safe data link. No command execution takes place during
transmission interference. The customer can terminate the link by closing the Internet Explorers
(highest priority).
A unique session number only valid for the duration of the link must be specified. The after-sales ser-
vice communicates this number to the customer.
• The customer allows access to one program only.
• The customer can trace all action on the monitor.
With the key-operated switch switched on, i.e. with the safety loop bypassed, the software disables
the "normal" imaging programs. Imaging is not possible in this mode because the laser cannot be
activated when the key-operated switch is used. Only the following service utilities can be operated
(set parameters 4-26009, 26031 to 0 first; reset to 1 after the session):
• DIAG = Diagnostic service software for actuating all individual functions
• GUI = CTP User Interface for activating all single and interrelated functions
• Service terminal
You can always stop the machine on site with the power switch or the EMERGENCY STOP button.
The machine's relatively small size and its construction allows a clear overview, making hazard points
(plate loading table, exposure cylinder, laser module slide) visible from almost any point around the
machine. The potential risk arising from the plate loading table is redundant as it moves very slowly
(ca. 75°/10 secs = ca. 1.25 rpm) and can be stopped by hand.
Laser module slide and cylinder are not directly accessible. The laser module slide moves relatively
slowly (max. ca. 40 mm/sec).

Remote Control Procedure

When the key-operated switch whose position is polled has been switched on, local confirmation is
requested acoustically and optically prior to a control run by the DIAG or CTP User Interface pro-
grams.
Control is enabled only when the customer gives his consent by pressing the input keys at the front
right of the machine. Confirmation is valid as long as the key-operated switch remains in its position.
It is required again when the key-operated switch has been switched off and on again.
Confirmation is always required, regardless of whether the DIAG or CTP-User Interface application
controls the machine locally or remotely. An automatic timeout occurs after 10 minutes to prevent
infinite remote control sessions without pressing the confirmation key.
