The front panel of the CP 1401 includes a 15-pin sub-D
female connector with a slide-lock mechanism for attaching a
transceiver cable. This connector is designed for the signals
of the AUI interface or the ITP interface. The switchover
between the signals of the two interfaces is automatic. For
communication via the AUI interface, a standard transceiver
cable can be plugged in.
Communication via the ITP interface on a Twisted
Pair Ethernet network is only possible using the
SIMATIC NET ITP cable with an ITP connector.
