Beam setting (fig. 68)
When checking the beam setting, put the motorcycle
upright. Tyres should be inflated at the correct pressure
and one person should be sitting astride the motorcycle,
keeping it at right angles to its longitudinal axis. Place the
motorcycle opposite a wall or a screen, 10 meters away
from it. Draw a horizontal line corresponding to the height
E
of the centre of the headlamp and a vertical one in line
with the longitudinal axis of motorcycle. If possible,
perform this check in dim light. Switch on the low beam.
The height of the upper limit between the dark area and
the lit area must not be more than nine tenths of the
height of the center of the headlamp from the ground.
Notes
This is the procedure specified by Italian standards to
check the maximum height of the light beam. Owners in
other countries will adapt said procedure to the provisions
in force in their countries.
Headlight vertical adjustment (fig. 69)
The vertical adjustment of the headlamp can be reset
manually by turning screw (1).
Horizontal adjustment can be changed by turning screw (2).
Important
Screws (1) and (2) have no travel limit.
