- on the contrary, if the coffee comes out too quickly and is not creamy, adjust to a finer
grinding level by turning the container clockwise by one or two clicks.
After having adjusted the grinder, make sure that the lever (11 Fig. 4) has gone back to its original
position, checking that the coffee container can no longer turn.

Water Quality

In addition to the coffee blend, grinding and right water temperature, water quality is also very im-
portant in the preparation of a top quality espresso.
We therefore recommend using water with a low limestone content which, as well as guar-
anteeing a better tasting coffee, protects the machine interior from the formation of incrustations.
Empty the water reservoir every day and fill it with fresh water.
Never use water with added carbon dioxide (sparkling water).

Operating Time

The machine can remain switched on all day long. However, in the case of prolonged inactivity, we
recommend switching it off by pressing switch (20). Once it is switched back on it will be ready for
use in a few minutes.

Switching the Machine Off

Only switch the machine off when the coffee and/or the other operating cycles have been com-
pleted.
Hot Water
The hot water supply circuit is separated from the coffee circuit, so as to provide neutral-tasting
hot water for tea, stock, infusions, etc.
Place the glass or cup directly under the steam/hot water spout, press the button to activate the
hot water (30) Fig. 2 and slowly open the tap in an anti-clockwise direction.
The hot water will be dispensed automatically. Close the tap in order to end the supply; in order to
disable the function, press button (30) again Fig. 2.
Pre-Ground Coffee
The coffee grinder can be disabled by pressing the pre-ground coffee switch (31) Fig. 2. It is now
possible to use pre-ground coffee by inserting a measuring cup of the same into the specific com-
partment (18a) Fig. 5. Press button (24), (25) or (26) Fig. 2, in order to obtain a small, medium or
large coffee. In order to reactivate the coffee grinder, just push button (31) again Fig. 2.
WARNING: do not exceed the maximum dose allowed by a single measuring cup (A).
The use of pre-ground coffee is for one cup only.
