6 Preparing the Device for Surgery
6.1

Switch on Device

1. After connecting to the mains power supply and pressing the ON/OFF switch
(23), this switch lights up. A logo is shown on the display for 3 seconds (see
Fig. 5-1 Front of the device, page 13).
2. The device now conducts a self-test. The display depicts Device Check for the
duration of the device check.

3. Device OK is visible for 3 seconds and 3 beeps are heard after the completion
of the device check. In case of error, please consult chapter 16 Error and
Warning Messages, page 51.
4. The display depicts the factory settings when the device is first started;
otherwise, the last set values will be displayed.
5. In case a tube set is not inserted, the status/warning field will display Insert
tube set. Please follow the instructions in chapter 6.2 Inserting the Tube Set,
page 17 to insert the tube set.

6. As soon as the tube is inserted, the status field of the display depicts for 3
seconds Set values. The pump cannot be activated during these 3 seconds.
