WARNING
Only use products that are suited for wipe disinfection of medical devices.
7.1.2. Prepare the Equipment and the Devices
1. Turn off the device.
2. Disconnect all cables, cords, devices and plugs from the Electromagnetic Navigation
Unit.
Note: For cleaning and disinfection of the previously disconnected cables, cords, devic-
es and plugs follow the instructions for use of the related manufacturer.
7.1.3. Cleaning Before Disinfection
1. Wipe all external surfaces of the equipment with CaviWipes wipes.
2. Carefully wipe the buttons, power supply cable, connectors, slots, ports and sockets on
the front and back panel of the device.
3. Use a new clean CaviWipes wipe when the wipe is contaminated.
4. Clean until all visible soil is removed.
5. Follow also the instructions for use of the manufacturer cleaning aid.
7.1.4. Disinfection
1. Using a new clean CaviWipes wipe, wipe all surfaces.
2. Carefully wipe the buttons, power supply cable, connectors, slots, ports and sockets on
the front and back panel of the device.
3. Make sure the surfaces remain visibly wet at room temperature for at least 3 minutes.
Follow also the instructions for use supplied by the disinfectant manufacturer.
4. Use a new clean CaviWipes wipe, when the wipe is contaminated.
5. Remove any excess disinfectant solution using a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened
with purified water.
7.1.5. Drying and Inspection
1. Dry the external surface by letting it dry on a lint-free cloth, wipe it with a dry lint-free
cloth until the external surfaces are dry or use carefully compressed air.
2. Pay special attention regarding dryness to buttons, power supply cable, connectors,
slots, ports and sockets on the front and back panel of the device.
3. Visually inspect the equipment for any remaining soil or disinfectant solution. If soil or
disinfectant solution remains, repeat the cleaning and disinfection procedure using fresh
CaviWipes wipes.
Note: Be aware to use the device only after it is completely dry.
