Black, white, grey
If non-colours such as black, white and grey are to be defined
or distinguished from other colours, the following applies:
Hue:
total area, 0 - 360
Saturation:
low e.g. 0 - 25
Brightness:
the limit values for brightness should be
adapted to the object (see fig. on left).
In these examples, the brightness (blue curve) is the decisive
indicator for detecting grey surfaces. Constant object lighting
with white light is important. Screening from incident light is
also important.
