• When adjusting the machine, make sure
that no fingers are trapped between the
moving blades and fixed parts of the
machine.
• Allow the motor to cool down before you
put the machine away.
• When maintaining the blades, remember
that even if the machine is switched off,
the blades can still be moved.
• For safety reasons, replace worn or dam-
aged parts. Only use original spare parts
and accessories.

Assembly
Mounting the handle
Note: All mounting steps must be
performed on both sides.

– Release the clamping lever (11).
– Fold the bottom part of the handle bar (7)
over as shown.
– Observe the installation direction:
Lugs (12) must engage as shown.
– Press the clamping lever towards the han-
dlebar.
– If the clamping lever does not safely
clamp: open the clamping lever again in a
clockwise direction and tighten it to the
limit stop.
– If the clamping lever cannot be tightened
to the limit stop: open the clamping lever,
make a counter-clockwise revolution, and
tighten it to the limit stop.

– Screw the handle (2) using the carriage
bolts (13) and tensioning lever nuts (14)
onto the handle under section.
– Press the clamping lever towards the han-
dlebar.
– If the clamping lever does not safely
clamp: open the clamping lever again in a
clockwise direction and tighten it to the
limit stop.
– If the clamping lever cannot be tightened
to the limit stop: open the clamping lever,
make a counter-clockwise revolution, and
tighten it to the limit stop.
– Clip the cable into the cable clamps (15).
Mounting the collection box

– Insert the carry handle (16) into the col-
lection basket upper (17) until it engages.
– Tighten the handle with screw (18).
– Attach the collection bag (19) to the col-
lection basket upper (17).
– Press the rubber lip as far as possible into
the guide!
Operation
Check before starting the device!
DANGER! Risk of injury! The
device may only be put into operation
if there are no defects. If a part is
defective it must be replaced before
the device is used again.
Check to make sure the device is in safe
operating condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible
defects.
– Check to make sure all device compo-
nents are correctly mounted.
Preparation
Set the cutting height
The cutting height can be set to several differ-
ent heights (Cutting heights: ► Technical
data – p. 35).

– Pull the lever (5) to the side.
– Set the cutting height to the value you
require, and let the lever slot back into
place.

– Lift the protective flap (6) and hold.
– Slot the cuttings bag (4) into place.
– Ensure that the bag has slotted into place
securely.
Connecting the product

– Insert the extension cable coupling into
the mains.
– Feed the extension cable through the
strain relief mechanism (8) as shown.
Turning on the tool

– Press and hold down the switch lock (10).
– Pull the switch on lever (1) and hold.
– Release the switch lock.
The unit will switch itself on with approxi-
mately 2 seconds delay.
Switching-off the device
– Release the switch on lever.
Mowing
WARNING! Risk of injury! Before
starting work, check the area and
remove all objects which may be
kicked up by the unit.
– Guide the unit at an even, slow pace
(walking speed) and with as straight a
path as possible.
Important notes
• Always work at right angles to the slope.
• Try not to cut grass when wet.

even cutting pattern.
• Cut longer grass with a greater cutting
height initially, then cut crosswise using
the desired cutting height.

Cleaning the device
Clean unit immediately after every use. Dried
grass remains are very hard, and are very dif-
ficult to remove.
– Remove grass remains with a brush, and
a plastic scraper if required (do not use
sharp implements).
– Remove deposits on the wheels.
– Wipe the tool with a damp cloth.
– Never clean the unit with water or high-
pressure jet.
Changing the blades
CAUTION! Risk of injury! Never
touch the blade on the cutting edge.
Wear gloves at all times when work-
ing with the blade.
