2. Sensitivity
Thanks to the high mechanical reserves of the C10, there can be a high output signal
of more than 4 mV/V. (2.5 kN, 5 kN and 10 kN versions >2 mV/V). Should this mean
overloading your amplifier, a C10 can be adjusted to an output signal of 4 mV/V or
2 mV/V.
3. Calibration
In the standard version, the C10 output signal for nominal (rated) forces of 2.5 kN to
10 kN is 2 mV/V, and for all other nominal (rated) forces (25 kN to 1 MN), 4 mV/V. If
required, the C10 can also be calibrated to half the output value, for half the nominal
(rated) force. With this option, a C10/250kN has a calibration of 2 mV/V for 125 kN,
instead of 4 mV/V for 250 kN.
4. Transducer identification
You can order the force transducer with transducer identification ("TEDS"). TEDS
(Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) allows you to store the transducer data
(characteristic values) in a chip that can be read by a connected measuring device
(with an appropriate amplifier). HBK records the TEDS data before delivery so that no
parameterization of the amplifier is necessary. Each measuring bridge has a TEDS in
the double bridge version. Also see Page 23.
5. Mechanical design
You can purchase the force transducer without an adapter. With an adapter, the force
transducer can be operated without additional mounting, it is enough to place it on a
stable substructure. Without an adapter, a bolted connection is required. Please
comply with Chapter 6 "Mechanical installation" on Page 13.
6. Plug protection
The C10 can be fitted with plug protection. This protects the connector plug against
mechanical damage.
7. Electrical connection
The force transducer is usually fitted with a bayonet connector. A threaded connector
can be supplied instead, if required. You can also order the C10 with an integrated
cable. This allows all C10s with a nominal (rated) force of 25 KN or more to achieve
protection class IP68.
