procedure.
Colon should not be prepped unless there is an excessive amount of stool in
rectum.
This device should not be left indwelling for more than 72 hours.
WARNINGS
This device is designed for single use only. Attempts to reprocess, resterilize, and/or
reuse may lead to device failure and/or transmission of disease.
Visually inspect the packaging and device. If the packaging is opened or damaged
when received, do not use. If a device abnormality is detected that would prohibit
proper working condition, do not use. Please notify Cook for return authorization.
MR SAFETY INFORMATION
This symbol means the device is MR Safe.
Non-clinical testing performed to establish the MR safety was completed using a
static magnet field of 3 T.
In non-clinical testing, the image artifact caused by the device extends
approximately 4 mm from the 14 Fr Colon Decompression Tube when imaged with
a gradient echo pulse sequence and a 3 T MR system.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Visually inspect the packaging confirming it is unopened and free from damage
prior to use.
2. Visually inspect the device confirming it is free from damage prior to use.
3. Advance colonoscope, insufflating minimal air or CO₂, until it has reached the
desired location. Use suction intermittently throughout procedure to help
decompress colon. Caution: Failure to perform suction may result in further
colonic distention.
4. Fluoroscopically observe location of colonoscope.
5. Insert wire guide into accessory channel until it is endoscopically visualized
exiting colonoscope and advance in short increments until it is fluoroscopically
visualized in position at the desired location.
6. Carefully withdraw colonoscope, making certain wire guide remains stationary
within colon by periodic fluoroscopic monitoring. Caution: Failure to monitor
the wire guide may result in dislodgement of the wire guide.
7. Disassemble colon decompression tube and pre-loaded guiding catheter.
