8.3.9. Closing the housing


Close the flameproof enclosure and fasten the 8 screws M10x25 SS DIN 912 (35-40
Nm).

Recommendation: If during cover installation misalignment of openings for fixing bolts
between the bottom and the cover occurs, release 4 bolts on hinges (by about 2 turns).
This will enable correct cover seating and bolting with the bottom. After tightening of
main bolts, tighten also the bolts of the hinges.

Before commissioning, ensure the following:

Installation of the device according to regulations.

Correct connection of the cables.

No damage at the device and connection cables

The screws in the terminals have been tightened firmly.

Replacement of the device

Configuration over PC

The grounding monitoring device is ex works configured in such a way that it functions
without any additional configuration in most applications. If you find out that in spite of
correct connection of the device, detection of the impedance and bleeder resistance does
not function, you can adapt it to the framework conditions of your application by means of
the configuration set consisting of an adaptor and CD-ROM with configuration software.
For the connection to the PC, use an adaptor for the infrared interface. This IrDA interface
is integrated in the red indicator light and, thus, it is accessible without opening the
enclosure. For the configuration, the grounding monitoring device must be connected to the
power supply and the adaptor must be positioned before the red indicator light. The
configuration set for IrDa interface is an accessory and can be ordered separately.

All glands and screws must be tightened correctly to ensure safety of the
flameproof enclosure.
Explosion hazard due to incorrect installation!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.
 Check the device for proper installation before commissioning.
 Comply with national regulations.
When replacing the device with a device identical in design, the DIP
switches might have to be readjusted.
