4.5.5. Grounding Deviceused for FIBC bags – BIG BAG type C

In this area of application, the Grounding Device continuously monitors a proper
connection of a big bag to a grounding point. It is necessary to follow next procedure
1) Connect the Grounding Device clamp to the big bag. If the green indicator light is on or
flashes the big bag can be filled. The relay R1 (RE1 & RE2) is energized.

The clamps are equipped with two contacts;

The first serve to detect the connection between the barrel and the grounding point of
the building and the safe discharge of the any electrostatic charge.

The second contact serves as a direct connection between the barrel and the
earth point of the building. The second contact is activated after the safe
discharge of any electrostatic charge.

The grounding device can detect big bag type FIBC type C, according
to EN 61340-4-
The clamps can be used to ground barrels, drums and IBCs even in Ex-
zone 1.
