This program step calibrates only the sensor
transducer zero values.
This procedure must be performed whenever
there are doubts about the aligner's measure-
ments, or if several cars are found to have crooked
steering wheels after adjustment.
Make sure that the calibrator and sensors are
perfectly levelled before starting the procedure.
The danger sign warns that if you continue
with the calibration the previous values will
be overwritten. Select the

The sensor values displayed on the screen are
on a green or red background depending on
whether or not they are inside the tolerance
range. The icon only becomes active, allowing
the user to continue with the procedure, if the
values are stable and within the tolerance range.
Select it to save the calibration values, or press
the ESC key to abort the procedure. The end of
the operation and saving of the new calibration
values are shown by figure

Calibration log

To access the calibration log, select the icon from
the calibration procedure main screen.
The log contains the date when the data were
saved, the operator and any working notes. The
icon identifies 0 calibration and the
icon full scale calibration.
If you select an old calibration procedure and
press "Enter", the mechanical values of the sen-
sors will be displayed in a screen similar to the
calibration screen. An analysis of the variation in
the mechanical values over time can be useful
for troubleshooting any problems on the sensors.
The values are saved at the end of the calibration
procedures. Apart from the operator's details
and the working notes, the system also prompts
input of the serial numbers of the tools used for
calibration.

RADIO VERSION

It makes no difference whether the radio aligner
sensors are connected to the central unit by wire
or radio. They are powered by a NiMH battery that
is recharged by placing the head in the housing
on the side of the cabinet. The recharging process
is indicated by the switching on of the YELLOW
LED on the head panel. Corghi S.p.A. declines
all responsibility for the use of non-original bat-
teries and battery chargers.
BATTERY RECHARGING
PROCEDURE
The battery recharging operation is carried out
directly by the head card. The charging bars in
the housing on the cabinet or in the connectors
of the emergency cables
receive exclusively 12V cc, taken from the PC
feeder.
If it is necessary to intervene, pay particular at-
tention to the polarity of the charging rods and
bars in the recharging section.
In particular, the charging rods of the heads (fig.71)
are polarised in different ways depending on the
head (this polarisation is shown on a label located
between the two charging rods. Below there is a
table referring to figs.71 and 72, to identify the
correct polarisation of the charging rods.

With regard to the recharging housing, the po-
larisation is impressed on the plastic cover of
the housing.
It is possible to recharge the batteries in two ways:
1. Connecting the measuring sensors to the
central unit by means of the emergency
cables.
2. Repositioning the heads in their housing and
checking the good connection between the
charging rods in the head arm and the charg-
ing bars in the measuring sensor housing.
In both cases, the recharging procedure begins.
The following table shows the possible indica-
tions visualised by the head during the recharg-
ing process.
