Attention important!
Before starting to fly your model helicopter, you should take note of the following information first.

f) Basic information relevant to the control of model helicopters

Before operating your model, you should know the available control possibilities first in order to be able to safely
control the model. The model helicopter is controlled via the two control sticks at the remote control transmitter. The
following functions are available:
Pitch Function
The flight height of a helicopter is affected by the pitch function. The control is effected with the left control stick (see
figure 1, Pos. 11). To that effect, the control stick can be moved forward and backward. Unlike with other control
functions, .the stick does not keep springing back to the centre position. Pulling the control stick towards you switches
off the engine and the rotors stop. If you push the control stick slowly away from you, the two rotors will start up and
their speed will rise as you continue to move the stick away from you. When the control stick reaches the centre
position, the helicopter should hover (see fig. 10, pos. A). The flying altitude can be regulated either by changing the
speed of the main rotor or by collective adjustment of the blades. To do so, the swash plate is lowered with the aid of
the three servos (the helicopter climbs) or raised (the helicopter descends).
Tail Function
Since, seen from above, the main rotor of the helicopter rotates clockwise, due to the reaction torque the nose of the
helicopter tries to turn anticlockwise and the tail clockwise. To avoid this, the helicopter has a tail rotor. Depending on
the speed and the angle of incidence, this pushes the tail anticlockwise to a greater or lesser extent so as to equalize
the reaction torque. This pitch/tail mix takes place in the transmitter and can be adjusted separately. In addition, the
Piezo gyro ensures that the tail does not perform any undesired rotating motions, e.g. caused by sudden wind from the
side.
The tail function is controlled with the lefthand control stick (see ill. 1, pos. 11). If the stick is moved slightly to the left,
the nose will turn left (as seen from above or behind). If you steer towards the right, the tip of the fuselage turns
likewise towards the right (see ill. 10, pos. B).
Roll Function
With the roll function you can move the helicopter sideways to the right or left (as seen from behind). The control is
effected with the right control stick (see figure 1, Pos. 5). If the stick is moved slightly to the left, the swash plate will be
tilted to the left with the aid of the three servos, and the helicopter drifts sideways to the left. If you steer to the right, the
model drifts sideways to the right (see ill. 10, pos. C).
Nod function
With the help of the nod function you can move the model helicopter forward and backward. The control is effected
likewise with the right control stick (see figure 1, Pos. 5). If the stick is moved forwards slightly, the swash plate will be
tilted forward with the aid of the three servos, and the helicopter flies forward. If you pull the stick towards the back, the
model flies backwards (see ill. 10, pos. D).
